"After moe.down, moe. will not be playing any more shows for some time. The band is taking a break with the intent of returning again in 2009."
i hope they do return in 2009 and dont flake out while taking this break...
but on the other hand after that mediocre House of Blues show, i think a break could be really good. and needed.

I have to disagree with you there Skells. That house of blues shows was one of the few times they actually didnt play to full potential this whole Winter run. From what I hear to, HOuse of Blues is extremely tight ass with Douche bags that run it. Like Umph, Moe is a creature of energy. If the crowd doesn't freak out and give it there all, then neither will they. They absolutely devoured Columbus not to long ago and other shows including the Radio City, the Ogden, and the Palace Theater were pretty freakin insane. Its kind of odd they are droppin out for a bit at the absolute top of their game. Along with WideSpread Panic, Keller Williams and maybe Phil Lesh they own the entire seen (Also with no Phish and the recent departure of String Cheese). I do hope they come back and rip it hardcore. For now, I'm hitten up MOuntain Jam though at the end of May so it should be an extra sweet send off.

no doubt the columbus show was rockkkkkin.... did you hit up those ather shows you mentioned? and i agree with the phish and cheese statement... i was actually thinking about earlier today and this past weekend... weather or not i like the scene better with or without a "main" band...
having the "main band" aspect could make it more like theres guidlines or an "authority figure" so to say however idk weather or not i agree with that, it is a view point

I was rockin out hard with Lotus at Mr. Smalls ;D. They Say it was a pretty mind blowing performance and the recordings definitely are pretty wild. Oh and sorry did I say Ogden...I meant Orpheum Theater . Unfortunately my only Moe show since All Good 2007 was Moe in Columbus. I do like to snag alot of their shows on live DL's or archive though. Yeah I definitely hear you there with the power house bands though. Yet it depends really what they do with that power. Like Umphrey's bringing back Om Trio at the Fillmore in CA was really chill. But when bands charge out the ass for a gig and half ass it like unforunately I have seen Bisco do a few times, then it gets pretty shitty . If bands keep it open without the big egos it could go along way...unfortunately sometimes it seems the two just go hand in hand.
