Wednesday January 14th, 2008 :: Get into shows for free!
We are organizing a street team for any band that might roll through any city! Im looking for people that want to get into shows for free in their city. How it works: 1. A band comes to me looking for promotion help. 2. I work out an agreement with the band that if I have posters hung up and flyers handed out then I can get free tickets or guest listed into the show. 3. I then contact you if the band is going to be coming to your city, to see if you would want the free tickets to that show. 4. If you do want the tickets, then I have you hang up posters and pass out flyers and send me pictures of you doing so. 5. You get into the show for free!

Wednesday December 24th, 2008 :: Dec 08 Interview with The Werks
It has been a while since an update due to being out of the country with no Internet access. However, before leaving I had the chance to sit down with the guys from a Dayton, OH band called The Werks. If you have yet to hear or see these guys, definitely check out their music or attend a show next time they are in your area. For now, atleast peep this interview to get an inside look at what they are all about and get informed of where you can find more music of theirs.

Wednesday Decemeber 24th, 2008 :: Nelson Ledges announces 8 festivals for 2009
Nelsons Ledges Quarry Park has announced 8 music festivals so far for the 2008 season. There have not been many bands announced yet, however, those will soon come. It is nice to see that some of the classic festivals will be returning this coming year though. Normally the festival season at NLQP starts in mid april and ends the last weekend in October. There is no confirmation on festivals as far as October yet. However, we have reached August, with the Midwest Reggae fest, which has been held at Nelson Ledges the past couple years even though it is actaully one of the only festivals held at NLQP that is put on by people outside of the park. So far there are 12 bands confirmed for this summer, but that is nothing compared to what will be announced by the time summer gets closer.

Saturday Decemeber 6th, 2008 :: Norman Dimitrouleas as The Werks New Keyboardist
Now known as the former keyboardist of The Werks, Dave Bartoletti, has decided to leave the band in hopes of entering a new stage in his life, with his girlfriend, all the way out in Maine. Bartoletti has been playing with The Werks since the beginning. Over the past few years, it has taken a huge part of his life. However, is with out a doubt, been a portion that he will never forget.

Friday December 5th, 2008 :: Welcome to the new Ohio Grown website!
Alright, well it seems that a lot of people have faded away from using the boards any more so I wanted to do something to draw people back to using them again. I have always had the idea of making a website strictly about music that provides articles and reviews. However, I have always wanted the website to be user interactive, so that people can give feedback about the reviews and such. So I came up with the idea to combine the website with the forums. Right now it still looks a lot more like forums than a website, but as more content gets added to the site, the website part of the pages will start to take up more space and things will start to look like how I had envision them. I also plan on providing things such as Artists Spotlights, Interviews, News, and Contests. There is going to be a lot of content that wouldn't normally be available if this was still just simply discussion boards. We still need a lot of help though, so if you or any one you know wants to get involved, it would be greatly appreciated.

Nelson Ledges announces 8 festivals for 2009

But what can we expect seeing as its not even 2009 yet and we are already looking into a festival happening 8 months later. The 12 that are confirmed so far include, Greenleif, Jim Miller Band, Sultans Of Bing, Ekoostik Hookah, The Bridge, Macpodz, Papadosio, Jimkata, The Werks, Badfish, Trippin Billies, and Several Species.

Here is a break down from the official NLQP website of how the festivals that have been announced so far are going to go down.

April 17th-19th
Earlybird Festival
Greenleif, Jim Miller Band and the Sultans Of Bing.

April 24th-26th
Blossom Blast/Spring Hookah
2 nights w/Ekoostik Hookah.
The Bridge, Macpodz, Papadosio, Jimkata and The Werks!

May 16th-18th
Mayflowers

May 30th-June 1st
NLQP's Summer Kick-off
Badfish and Trippin Billies.

June 13th-15th
Floyd/Zeppelin/Classic Fest
Several Species

July 3rd-5th
(Name of fest TBA, possibly Rhythm Fest?)

July 24-26
Summer Hookah Weekend

August (exact dates TBA)
Midwest Reggae Fest

So far it is mostly just dates of some of the festivals. However, in the coming weeks you can expect more announcments to be made and we will keep you updated with those as they unfold. Dont take my word for it but there have also been some rumors of another Summer Dance festival being held this year which Lotus headlines. (possibly 2 nights this year?) Im also sure it is safe to say that we can expect to see Gory at The Quarry again this October with 2 nights of Ekoostik Hookah, however that has not been confirmed just yet.
